Behind every agency is a kick-ass team, there’s no doubt about that. We take pride in the people that work for us, what they contribute, and how they solve problems for the agency and clients alike. This couldn’t be said more strongly about our interns as well. They are designers, developers, and marketers who are in the field with us, sharpening their respective chops and gaining the experience needed to make them their industries’ all-stars.

In this newest edition of “In The Aether,” we sit down with Chris Martin, our current design intern, for some light Q&A. He’s currently going through his graphic design program at North Shore Community College, while boasting previous experiences in music and in marketing.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, and how you got into your field?

I’m Chris Martin and I don’t sing in Coldplay. Although, I did work in music for 5+ years. I got into Graphic Design because I’ve always just made things. It didn’t matter if it was a T-shirt, album packaging, enamel pins or even a web site. I just want to create things and Graphic Design allows me to do that.

Hobbies?

D&D and putting out records.

What do you like about the work you’re doing at known so far?

I love having the free reign on projects, having a voice and being heard. Outside of the work at known, I have to say that I love nerding out with the team and falling victim to Eric’s deadpan.

What’s your 666 (Six weeks, six months, six years)?

::Types while doing devil horns and listening to Black Sabbath::
6 weeks: Finishing classes and eating 25 burritos within that 6 week period.
6 months: Working full time as a graphic designer.
6 years: Getting fed grapes in my mansion. Grapes are delicious btw.

Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, or Jared Leto?

Heath Ledger (RIP)

Last five movies you watched, each with a 1-10 score?

Moonlight -10
What We Do In The Shadows – 8.5
Leprechaun In Space – 6
Rogue One – 9
Lobster – 7

Stuff you were grounded for?

I don’t think I’ve ever been grounded. I was too busy being well behaved.

Even before graduating from Massachusetts College of Art & Design in 2012, Chris Santoro wanted to start a kick-ass design agency. Fast forward to present-day, and not only has it happened alongside three close friends, but he's led the brand design for a wide variety of small to mid-sized companies and organizations. If he's not in the office, you'll probably find him shacked up in a nearby coffee shop or a ramen house.
